#STAYATHOME

Winners & Finalists Photo Contest

These months of lockdown have put a strain on us. We found ourselves locked in four walls overnight. We had to create new habits and routines. In recent months we have been asked to stay home and stay safe. For a photographer you know, it's really hard not to be able to go out on the street to shoot, that's why we at ArtFullFrame asked photographers to tell about their lockdown from their homes.

Many responded in an excellent and creative way. We didn't expect so many answers and above all the submitted works put us to the test because selecting only 5 finalists and then choosing only two winners was not easy.
We wanted to reward those who in just two photos managed to tell a story.

The top two finishers participated in the London Photo Show 2020!

Ansje Visser (1959) Photographer, writer Amsterdam, The Netherlands “To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” — Elliott Erwitt Photography is a form of meditation for me. Strolling around on your own and let you eye lead you is very relaxing and also exciting. Travel, nature, everyday life, underwater world and reflections are my favourite themes. I organize photo walks, give photography lessons, teambuilding activities and photo coaching. I enjoy it very much when students go from just looking to seeing an interesting image during the lessons. Everything is photographable as long as you get an interesting angle. I developed a coaching method for people with problems through photography. It is like creative therapy. I worked with a group of people with incipient dementia. They were so proud when we ended the photography course with and exhibition. Writing is my other passion. I am an author of 6 children’s books, 1 poem book, 3 life stories and several photography books. Between 2013 and 2020 I had 5 exhibitions and events of free work. Creativity is essential in my life, a necessity. Besides my work as a photographer and writer I also work as a volunteer coordinator for a health care organization in Amsterdam.

4th Place

Cemal Samli
Turkey

5th Place

Rachele Gabrielli
Italy
Born in Rome in 1987, I have always been passionate about the world of art. I graduate in cultural heritage and for years I study music. Graduating in psychology, I discover in photography a form of art through which to investigate in one's unconscious, in search of oneself and one's inner world. For me, photography is a form of knowledge that goes beyond the surface and the visible.
